Marc Love

Marc Love is the State Chief Operating Officer (COO) for WellCare Health Plan of Georgia.  WellCare is the largest Medicaid health plan in Georgia and and one of the larger Medicare Advantage plans. Marc is primarily responsible for Health Plan Operations, Member Experience and Network Management.  In addition he is responsible for driving financial performance, improving quality outcomes, and managing the relationship with the plan’s government partners.   

Prior to joining WellCare, Marc was Vice President of Managed Care Operations for PHP, a Medicare Advantage HMO and PHC, a Medicaid Managed Care HMO in Florida.    As VP of Operations, Marc oversaw every aspect of the health plan, including Provider Network, Utilization Management, Case Management, Sales, Member Services, Claims, Information Technology, Risk Adjustment, Compliance, and Pharmacy Operations.   

Prior to PHP and PHC Marc was the National Director of Insurance Contracting for HCR Manor Care’s Heartland division.  In this capacity Marc negotiated SNF, home health, hospice, and home infusion contracts with managed care payors covering 32 states.  In addition to managed care contracting, Marc was in charge of pharmacy sales for the home infusion product line with over 200 sales representatives nationally.   

Early in Marc’s career he worked in the hospital setting at Howard University Hospital and University of Maryland Medical Center as an analyst.  Afterwards Marc work for Deloitte and Touche as a Healthcare Consultant in their World Financial Center Office in New York City.  At Deloitte and Touche Marc worked in the Actuarial and Business Consulting group.  

Marc represented PHP and PHC on the Board of the Florida Association of Health Plans, (FAHP) and he is a member of the National Association of Health Services Executives. Marc is on the Board of Trustees for his undergraduate alma mater, Talladega College (Finance Committee Chair).  He is also on the Board of Directors for a national home health company, Accessible Home Care.  In addition to these professional organizations Marc gives back to the community by working with the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. on various community events, fund raisers, and the youth mentoring program.     

Marc is a native of Mobile, AL and he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Talladega College, Talladega, AL.  He also received his MBA from Howard University in Washington, DC.    

Marc enjoys sports, especially football and basketball.  He is an avid runner and golfer.   

Marc currently resides in Johns Creek, GA with his wife and two children.
