Dr. Marlyn Hirsch Celebrates 30 Years in Medicine with New Clinic Opening

A major celebration is in order for Dr. Marlyn Hirsch, DNP-FPA, who marks over 30 years in medicine with the grand opening of her second medical facility.

Dr. Hirsch, renowned for her dedication to primary care, telehealth, family practice and weight loss management, has spent decades treating and educating the communities she serves.

Her second location is not just a milestone for her but a true blessing for many.

A leader, mentor and trailblazer, Dr. Hirsch, a 2024 Chicago Defender Women of Excellence honoree, is committed to guiding her patients on transformative journeys toward healthier, more fulfilling lives. Her approach focuses on lifestyle changes that promote long-term well-being, emphasizing the power of preventive care.

Interestingly, Dr. Hirsch’s journey began in a different field entirely—fashion design.

After four years of studying to become a fashion designer, she heeded her father’s advice and joined the military. Her passion for medicine was ignited during her time as a medical technician in the Air Force Reserves. After retiring as a major in the Air Force, she pursued a career in nursing, earning bachelor’s, master’s, and clinical doctoral degrees, along with a mental health certificate.

While working as a nurse practitioner, Dr. Hirsch observed that morbid obesity was at the core of many illnesses, particularly in underserved communities.

This revelation led her to create a business centered on reversing these health issues through sustainable, healthy habits.

Her first medical practice on 114th and Western has now expanded to a second location.

Dr. Hirsch recently celebrated the grand opening of her new medical facility on 9933 South Western Avenue, where she continues to help people lead longer, healthier lives.

The original location will now serve as a hub for veteran affairs patients and philanthropic efforts, including her annual book bag giveaway, feeding programs for the homeless and wellness events.

At the new facility, Dr. Hirsch offers a wide range of medical services, including weight loss management programs with options like injections, pills, teas, and holistic consultations.

Treatments include popular medications such as Tirzepatide, Semaglutide and B-12 injections, alongside customized plans that help patients understand the root causes of weight gain and how to maintain long-term health.

For those not interested in medications, Dr. Hirsch’s team provides comprehensive plans involving appetite suppression, diet plans and detox teas that prepare the body for a healthier lifestyle.
